She Evolves in Love: Turning Your Heart Back to God

(A gentle reminder for every Christian woman seeking true love and fulfillment)

Have You Ever Loved So Deeply That You Forgot Yourself?

Thanks to technology, the world has truly become a “global village.” With the vast information being put out on all platforms, I have come across Christian women, wives and daughters of God, looking and seeking for love and affirmation in the wrong places.

Most women pour themselves into their homes, marriages, and communities, but are left wondering if their sacrifices, dedication, and love are being noticed, seen, valued, and cherished.

After a very busy day, as the curtains come down and we lie in bed, that one thought lingers in the minds of some women :

“if only my family appreciated me more by acknowledging my efforts, then I would finally feel fulfilled.”

But here is the truth, beautiful queen, I’ve got news for you: the love and affirmation you seek can never truly come from people alone and was never meant to be.

You see that love we crave, was designed to come from God Himself. The source of perfect and unfailing love.

Returning to Your First Love

I remember one morning, I couldn’t even get out of bed. My heart, body, and mind felt weighed down by the endless demands of life. In that stillness, the Holy Spirit whispered a question that pierced my heart:

“If someone you love were to love you the way you love me, how would you rate your love?”

That question hit me really hard; it was like a slap to my face. I noticed that I spent time chasing shadows, yearning for validation from men, and neglecting the one person that loves me beyond measure.

The one person who has that boundless love for me. It was at that moment I realized that I needed to go back to God, my maker, to experience the truest, most enduring love.

As wives and women of faith, we tend to pour our energy, time, and devotion into others, neglecting our first love, God Almighty. Yet that relationship we neglect with God sets the tone for other relationships in our lives.

Therefore, I am calling upon all Christian wives and women of faith to realign our hearts back to God because he is the key to lasting fulfillment, joy, and peace.

Redirecting Your Love Back to God

“Express your love to God through every love language.”

The Bible reminds us in Matthew 6:33 that “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Hence, as women of faith, when we love God intentionally, all other relationships benefit. The affection, patience, love, and joy we crave in our marriages, families, and friendships naturally flow outward from the love we cultivate with God Almighty.

How to Love God Intentionally: The 5 Love Languages of Faith

In order to better express how we can love God intentionally, I drew inspiration from the book authored by Gary Chapman, “The Five Love Languages.” I tend to use these widely recognized steps in human relationships as a guide on devotion to God.

1. Words of Affirmation: Speaking love to God

Words are powerful. When we praise, worship, and thank God with our words, we affirm his presence in our lives.

King David in the Bible was a man who understood the power of words of affirmation to God. The book of Psalms is full of David’s love to and for God. He was never afraid to express himself, and he was a man truly favored by God.

One example can be seen in Psalm 69:30-31:

“I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. This will please the Lord more than an ox, more than a bull with its horns and hooves.”

Now I would like you to ask yourself, when was the last time you spoke to God simply to express your love for him? Not asking, venting, or worrying. Just taking time to adore him and whispering, “Lord, I love you.”

When was the last time during quiet moments you sang his praises while performing daily tasks, letting your words become heartfelt expressions of gratitude?

I want you to know that, the same way you long to hear “I love you” from your spouse, God longs to hear your devotion openly, sincerely, and unapologetically. These words are treasures in heaven and fuel your spiritual intimacy.

“God delights when you say, ‘Lord, I love You.’”
2. Acts of Service: Obedience as Love

Love is expressed not only in words but also in action. For instance, in our homes, acts of service may look like cooking, cleaning, or helping our families. Now acts of service in our spiritual lives are about obedience, devotion, and surrender.

Therefore, spending time reading God’s word, listening to his guidance, and acting according to his principles is a profound act of love. As such, every prayer, devotion, and small step of obedience is an offering from the heart.

In God’s presence, we don’t even have to be perfect but consistent and sincere. Showing up for God daily in prayer, worship, and living a faith-filled life is how love is truly expressed.

“Loving God through obedience and daily devotion.”
3. Receiving Gifts: Giving back to the giver

Giving to God isn’t only monetary. It’s about offering what comes from the heart. I am talking about giving your time, attention, intentional acts of kindness, and resources back to God. These acts can be manifested through blessing others and supporting ministries, just to name a few.

For when we bless others, we are presenting love to God Almighty, who gave all to us in the first place. The Bible in Mark 12:41-44 talks about the widow whose small coins reflected a generous heart.

Thus, I want you to know that when giving gifts back to the giver, God values the heart behind the gift more than its size.

“Giving back to God the Giver of every good gift.”
4. Quality Time: In the Quiet

In today’s world, everybody is busy, calendars are full, and responsibilities are endless, yet we must prioritize having personal time with God.

Whether it is through writing, silent meditation, a contemplative walk, or morning prayers, spending quality time with God allows you to hear his voice, feel his presence, experience calm, and relate better with others.

“Be still and know that He is God.”
5. Physical Touch: Touching lives with Grace

Another way to turn our hearts back to God is by showing compassion to others. By being the first point of contact for those in need. Be that one friend that listens without being judgmental.

In addition, we should strive to embody Christ in every action. Each act becomes a tangible extension of God’s love on earth.

In Matthew 25:40. Jesus states that “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

“Touch lives with grace and reflect the heart of Christ.”

Why This Matters

It is vital to note that, as we learn to love God, everything else begins to align naturally. Hearts soften, patience grows, and joy becomes more abundant. Marriages, families, and communities reflect the divine love we cultivate in our personal relationship with God.

Therefore, divine alignment is about constancy, intention, and surrender rather than perfection. This is because love naturally pours forth as it flows upward.

The Quiet Push: Your 5 Day Heart Reset Challenge

This week, I would like you to partake in a simple exercise.

  • When you wake up in the morning on Monday, thank God sincerely.
  • On Tuesday, create time to just read a scriptural chapter in the Bible.
  • Manifest kindness by giving a thoughtful gift to someone in need on Wednesday.
  • Next, on Thursday, set aside some quiet time to spend and listen to God.
  • Lastly, try to be physically affectionate, helpful, and supportive to someone you care about on Friday.

Watch how your heart begins to shift. Observe the peace and joy that grows from prioritizing God’s love first. The more you love him, the more you understand true love itself.

“Simple daily acts to deepen your love for God.”

Final Thoughts

Beautiful queen, you are already deeply loved by the one who matters the most. Thus, when you realign your heart with God, the emptiness fades, striving stops, and your soul finds rest.

I invite you to lead by example. Pour love into God first, not because you are hoping to receive anything, but because it reflects who you are in him. As you do, you will notice every relationship in your life blooming with grace, patience, and joy.

Because when she evolves in love, she evolves in purpose.
